Outreach
  • The Mid-South Atlantic Region which covers the States of Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has developed the Small Business Transportation Resource Centers (SBTRC) in various regions of the country to expand the DOT's outreach efforts. This national program utilizes Cooperative Agreements with chambers of commerce, trade associations, and business-centered, community based entities to establish SBTRCs.

The Greater Atlanta Economic Alliance through a cooperative agreement with DOT OSDBU was chosen to administer the SBTRC for the Mid-South Atlantic Region which covers the States of Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee.

The SBTRCs seek to ensure that small, female and disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) certified small businesses interested in transportation-related projects across the region are prepared and have an opportunity to participate in DOT funded contracts at the local, state and federal levels by providing the following services:

    Business Analyses/Market Research
    General Management/Technical Assistance and Training
    Transportation-related Procurement Opportunities
    One-on-one Business Counseling
Host conferences, seminars and workshops centering on small business topics
    Short Term Loan Program Assistance
    Bonding Assistance Program
